Green Gables B&B: Spring in the Huon Valley – Your Local Guide
Spring walks and gardens around Green Gables
Spring is slowly showing up and making itself visible in the valley, although the thermometer sometimes lets you think otherwise. Last weekend we had the best snowfall of the season would you believe with snow down to 300m. The wattles are in full bloom and covering the countryside in cheerful hues of yellow keeping in step with daffodils, jonquils and tulips popping up everywhere. Shrubs and fruit trees are also starting to blossom in pink and white and the magnolias are magnificent.
This makes Spring a great time to explore the Huon Valley and I would like to share a few walks and garden spots with you.
I invite you to check out our Spring Sippers Special valid from September ‘25 to November ‘25 here.
Three of our Top Picks:
Green Gables Garden Loop: A short stroll around our property - flowers are in bloom and birds are singing and busying themselves everywhere.
Cygnet Foreshore Trail: A gentle walk along the water and wetlands with its protected fauna. Perfect for morning or afternoon strolls. Why not fit in a coffee at one of our favourites The Old Bank Cafe or Red Velvet Lounge ?
Crawleighwood Garden & Nursery: A 5 minute drive from Green Gables B&B, ideal for a peaceful walk around another stunning private garden which is open to the public.
The last photo was taken on Ben Lomond on the weekend before the big dumping of snow.
