Q: What are the check-in and check-out times?

A: Check-in is from 3:00pm. Check-out is by 10:30am. If you need a little flexibility, just get in touch and we'll do our best to accommodate you, subject to availability.

Q: Is self check-in available?

A: Yes — self check-in is available, so you can arrive at your own pace. Full arrival instructions will be sent to you ahead of your stay.

Q: Is parking available?

A: Yes, we have secure onsite parking included with your stay — no need to worry about finding a spot.

YOUR STAY

Q: Is breakfast included?

A: Yes! Breakfast provisions are included with your stay. We stock your room with everything you need for a leisurely morning, including homemade treats baked fresh by Eva. The Waterview Apartment and Garden Studio are both self-contained, so you can enjoy breakfast at your own pace.

Q: Is there a minimum stay?

A: We require a minimum stay of 2 nights. This allows you to truly settle in and make the most of everything the Huon Valley has to offer.

Q: Is WiFi available?

A: Yes, free WiFi is available throughout the property — though we do encourage guests to switch off and enjoy the peace of the valley!

Q: Are pets welcome?

A: We're sorry — we are unable to accommodate pets at Green Gables B&B. We hope to welcome you and your human companions soon!

Q: Is Green Gables suitable for children?

A: Green Gables is best suited to adults and couples seeking a peaceful retreat. Please get in touch before booking if you're travelling with children and we'll be happy to advise.

BOOKING & CANCELLATION

Q: What are the room rates?

A: The Garden Studio is priced from $150 per night and the Waterview Apartment from $200 per night. Rates may vary by season. Booking direct through our website ensures the best available rate.

Q: How does payment work?

A: A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your reservation. The remaining balance is due 7 days before your arrival date. No security deposit is required.

Q: What is your cancellation policy?

A: Cancel 30 days or more before arrival — full refund of all prepayments.

Cancel 14 days or more before arrival — 50% refund of prepayments.

Cancel less than 14 days before arrival — no refund.

We recommend travel insurance for added peace of mind.

Q: Can I book directly with you?

LOCATION & GETTING HERE

Q: Where exactly is Green Gables B&B?

A: We are located at 6974 Channel Highway, Gardners Bay, Tasmania 7112 — approximately 50 minutes south of Hobart CBD. We are just minutes from the village of Cygnet and conveniently close to the Bruny Island Ferry terminal.

Q: Is Green Gables a good base for visiting Bruny Island?

A: Absolutely — we are one of the closest accommodation options to the Bruny Island Ferry at Roberts Point. Many of our guests use Green Gables as their base for a day trip to Bruny Island before returning to the comfort of the valley.

Q: What is there to do nearby?

A: Plenty! The Huon Valley is famous for its cool-climate wineries, award-winning cider houses, craft breweries, artisan cafes and stunning walking trails. Visit our Things to Do page for our personal recommendations.
